Allium

ursinum

These Allium produce an intense aroma of garlic. The species grows quickly on the fringes of woodland in the northern hemisphere, especially in moist and humus-rich soil. Allium ursinum propagate both vegetatively and by seed. On receipt, the bulbs should be planted immediately to prevent them from drying out and becoming mouldy. The flower stem has three clear edges and the semi-spherical umbel comprises white star-shaped flowers. The leaves are both edible and good at lowering cholesterol.
