The plant grows in almost all types of soil, both in the sun or in partly shaded areas. An ideal ground covering plant under shrubs. Between May and June, the plant flowers with the familiar spherical clock-shaped flowers which bear close resemblance to crowns. The alternative name for the Lily of the valley, Majalis, literally means ‘from the month of May’. Has an intense sweet fragrance.
